Healing applications of clay

The French green illite and montmorillonite clays are the most commonly recommended by European scientists, doctors and natural health practitioners. But other clays can also work for some symptoms; they will be mentioned as alternate clays in this section.

In order to find a symptom or an organ, click on the first letter of the name of the symptom or organ you are looking for. A list of symptoms and organs will appear, then click on the name to get the full description.

  • CELLULITE: Recommended clays: red clay or green illite. External use: Prepare the clay paste with warm spring water. Apply a thick clay layer on the affected areas. Wrap the area(s) in a cotton clothe or bandage. Leave it on for about 2 hours (don't let the clay dry on your skin). Once it's time to remove the clay, the clay detaches itself on its own. Take a shower to rinse it off. Use a wood spatula to apply and remove the clay. Do the applications 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks. You can repeat the cure several times during the year. Prevention: Do a clay application 3-4 times per month to prevent cellulite formation. Tips: After the clay application, when in the shower, brush your skin with a brush or a loofa. Other tips: Finish your showers with cold water on the affected area. It's excellent to stimulate the blood circulation. Other tips: Don't forget that cellulite is an inflammation of adipocytes (cells that store fats) that is caused by toxins that the body cannot eliminate. Your diet and the bad functioning of organs of elimination are at the origin of cellulite. Think of changing your diet and do a colon and/or liver cleanse regularly with a 21-day internal green illite clay cure with a glass of clay milk every morning on a empty stomach.
  • COLD (nose & sinus congestion): Coming soon. See SINUS
  • COLITIS: Recommended clay: green illite Alternate clay: montmorillonite. Internal use: Drink a glass of clay milk at the first sign of symptoms. Can be repeated if necessary (not more than 3 glasses per day on an empty somach). At first sign of improvement, maintain one glass in the morning until total recovery. External use: Apply a thick clay pack or poultice on the intestinal/colon area. Leave it on for 1 to 2 hours during the day or all night long. You can do an application every 4 hours during the crisis until major improvement. Then continue 1-2 applications per day until complete recovery. Tips: It is recommend to stop any intake of fiber-rich foods (vegetables, whole grains, etc). White rice + cooked carrots is a very popular dish for colitis. Decrease your intake of fluids too. Only sip some water when thirsty.
  • COLON (cleansing, inflammation, irritations, bleeding, cancer): Recommended clay: green illite Alternate clay: montmorillonite. Internal use. Do a 21-day internal clay cure with the clay milk. The cure can be repeated several times during the year for prevention and maintenance. Leave at least a week of rest between each cure. Depending on the seriousness of the symptoms, you can take a glass of clay milk twice a day (morning and evening). The internal cure with the green illite clay also cleanses and detoxifies the blood and the liver! WARNING: At the beginning fo the internal clay cure, you may experience constipation. Make sure that you increase your intake of fibers (fiber-rich food or food supplements). External use: Apply a thick (2 cm or 3/4 inch) layer of clay paste on the colon area for a soothing and quick action. (Quick relief when in pain in this area). Leave it on for 1-2 hours (don't let the clay dry). When the clay detaches itself from the skin, it is a sign that it's time to take it off. Depending on the condition, you can do 1-3 applications per day for several days and months. The external applications of clay on the colon area is an excellent alternative for colon detox for people who cannot take clay internally (due to occlusions, severe constipation, clay intolerance, kidney problems, High blood pressure, etc). Tips: in order to increase the action of the cure, change your diet by decreasing your intake of processed foods, starchy foods, fats, dairy products and proteins. Increase significantly your intake of vegetables and water. Other tips: A cure of probiotic is usually recommended to rebalance the natural intestinal flora. Take any probiotics far from clay intake. Wait at least one hour after you drink the clay OR take your clay in the morning and the probiotics in the evening.
  • CONSTIPATION: See general recommendations in the COLON section. Recommended clay: green illite Alternate clay: montmorillonite. 21-day internal clay cure. Also follow directions for the diet: Make sure that you significantly increase your intake of fibers (fiber-rich foods like vegetable and/or food suplements) to insure at least one bowel movement per day. Any internal intake of clay will trigger a light to constipation or accentuate it if already present. Most people and litterature report a major improvement of the bowel movements after few days or few weeks of clay intake (depending on the seriousness of the constipation). The clay repairs and rebalances the intestinal wall, which improves the bowel movements. Tips: repeat the 21-day clay cure several times during the year for long term results and maintenance along with a diet rich in vegetables and fresh foods.
